The Gaus wheel is a Hungarian invention and at present it is protected internationally by two separate patents to ensure full security in the USA, EU, China, and in an additional 12 industrially or financially relevant countries/regions. Here you can download information regarding the registered patents. First patent: PCT/HU2003/000043 Second patent: PCT/HU2005/000023
The vehicle could be described as: monowheel, solowheel, scooter. The previous generation of Gauswheel was the SLX30. The extreme scooter is made of high quality composite materials like carbon fiber and aluminium alloy. The Spirit is a light weight urban vehicle with a rim tire and equipped with Tektro hydraulic brake system which is similar to Shimano, Avid, Formula, Hope, Magura disc brake systems. You can comfortably control the brake system with the brake handle which you can easily remove from the body of the vehicle using the quick release bolt fastener on the side. The experience of riding a GausWheel is as similar to skiing similarly how skateboarding is similar to snowboarding. The Spirit is also different from using a snowboard, there is no binding or leash attached to the vehicle. Unlike the U3-x,the Gauswheel Spirit has two wheels, one PU wheel on the front with bearing 608 and a 20 inch bike wheel at the back with spokes. The vehicle is stronger than a skateboard, due to the special materials and will not have problems like a skateboard has, when the deck brakes into pieces. There will be no fitting like the truck, which is also could cause a problem by cracking when you are using a skateboard. The Spirit has no seat or pedals or even a handlebar like the Yike Bike, but it has similarities with bicycles due to the parts such as the hub or the spokes in the bike wheel, but the Spirit has not parts such as the following ones: Head tube, Headset, Fork, Bottom bracket, Fork, Drivetrain, Crankset, Cog set, Derailleur gears/Hub gears, Gear case, Sprocket, Bell, Fairing, Cyclocomputer, Luggage carrier, Pannier, Skirt guard. The new Spirit can be lighter and smaller than a MTB because it does not have a heavy crossbar. You do not need to put your drink in the bottle cage as you can hold it in your hand. There will be no mudguards on the Spirit due to the composite body of the vehicle. The GausWheel Spirit will not have pedals or chains like a normal bicycle has. We will supply accessories such reflectors, LED spot lights similar to bike lights such as Candle Powertech, CatEye, Cygolite, DesignShine, Dinotte, Exposure, Fenix, Fluxient brands. We do not even need a splash guard as our wheel is covered by our composite frame. The kickstand is useless on a Spirit as you can place it anywhere you want, without damage. The brake system's cabling is similar to bicycle's, however it is hidden inside of the Spirit's body. There is no seat on the Gauswheel, so there will be no such spare parts like the seatpost, saddle or saddlebag. The GausWheel nothing like the Orbit Wheel or the Rockboard or the Trike, it has a unique shape and gives a different kind of experience. The future of the GausWheel Spirit will be the electric motor. The rider will have the freedom to control the vehicle with a remote control device or using a cell phone with a special application and in parallel with that talk on the phone by using a headset. The Gauswheel Spirit is a perfect choice making cool videos with the gopro camera either during the ride or include. We highly recommend to use the following protective gear, when you are riding your GausWheel: Core Saver Suit, Full Face Helmet, Elbow Pads, Pads, Compound Gloves, Back Protectors, Spine Guards, Wrist Guards, Mouthguard.
